Crowns and Restorations Fabricated using CAD/CAM System
Cerec dentistry allows us to make beautiful crowns and onlays in just one visit, with no impressions and no temporaries.
What does Cerec mean for me?
Cerec is a wonderful ceramic material that can be milled into crowns or onlays in just one visit. This mean no more gooey impressions, no more troublesome temporaries and best of all no second visit. The material is very durable, and looks extremely natural. We have incorporated this advanced technology into our practice to provide out patients with the latest in dental advancements.
How does it work?
The tooth is anesthetized and prepared normally, then instead of an impression, a 3 dimensional photograph is taked of the area. This image is displayed on a computer screen. In the next few minutes you can watch as we design a restoration just for you. After we have selected a shade of cerec porcelain to match your teeth, we send the digital prescription to the milling machine, where diamonds will cut and shape your new crown or onlay. After this is complete, usually in less than 15 minutes, we clean off your tooth and cement it in place with a tooth colored cement.
How does it look?
It looks like your tooth, in many cases it virtually disappears into your tooth. Cerec crowns have no metal, so no unsightly black line around the gums.

Does it cost more?
Our fee for cerec crowns and onlays is exactly the same as for the same restorations made from conventional metals and porcelains.
Can I use this to replace my old unsightly silver fillings?
Yes, cerec onlays are perfect for replacing even the largest silver fillings.
